思念一个叫吴刚的人 文 / 陈恩裕
吴刚是一个人，一个中国人。他从远古时代开始斫树，斫月亮上那棵高五百丈的月桂树，一直斫到现在。他的斧头砍到树上，月桂树上便有了创口，他的斧子再次举起，创口便愈合了。所以他从远古时代开始斫这棵月桂树，一直这样斫着，他还将斫下去，只要遥远的地球上还有中国人。吴刚是月亮上的中国人，而嫦娥是月亮上的一只中国癞蛤蟆。
中国古代神话里多的是豪迈的英雄：开天辟地的盘古、追逐太阳的夸父、炼石补天的女娲……然而吴刚不是英雄，他只是一个人。
过去我曾以为吴刚是快乐的，最初在文字上读到吴刚是在**的诗句里：“寂寞嫦娥舒广袖”“吴刚捧出桂花酒”……在这样的诗句里我们看不到吴刚的痛苦、坚韧及悲壮，自然也想不到月亮上的嫦娥是只癞蛤蟆。我想象中吴刚是一个潇洒的男人：有美酒、有美女，且没有警察去管，够逍遥的。
等我在一些古籍上认真地读过片言只语关于吴刚及嫦娥的传说后，才知道吴刚的传说并非轻松而美妙。它寄寓着非常深沉的理念，即命运之残酷。吴刚所受到的责罚是最痛苦的责罚，最最重要的是这种责罚不仅仅是针对吴刚的，而是针对整个人类的。中国人这么早就创造了吴刚，这比西方人创造西西弗绪要早得多。所以我们说吴刚是中国人。
我们一直以良好的愿望改变着古代的神话，譬如；嫦娥奔月，我们一直在口头隐匿着嫦娥到月宫后的遭遇，《淮南子》上说嫦娥偷吃不死之药后“托身于月，是为蟾蜍，而为月精”。但是我们的善良使我们不愿听到美好的嫦娥会变成癞蛤蟆，人们以为这样的结局是惨不忍睹的，但其实真正悲惨的是吴刚，他那永无结局的砍伐远比变成一只癞蛤蟆要残酷得多。
吴刚承受着我们整个人类共同的命运。宇宙是无限的，我们的生存时空是无限的，我们一代代地举起斧子，我们无法斫断时间的大树。吴刚无法创造五百丈月桂树訇然倒地的辉煌，但他有一次次举起斧子的悲壮和伟大，于人来说，这样就足以引之为自豪了。吴刚告诉我们每个人都有自己的月桂树，就像我们这些码字的人，永无终结的文字便是我们的月桂树。

我们在月圆的时候思念一个叫吴刚的人，他在遥远有月球与一只漂亮的癞蛤蟆为伍，他在五百丈高的月桂树下做着我们人类同样在做的事情。所以我们敬仰他。
Miss a human called WU Gang
WU Gang is a man, from China. Since ancient times, he has been cutting down a laurel ,which is five hundred tall, on the moon. He cuts the tree with an axe, the tree is damaged, when he trys again, it become intact. So far he is doing the same thing and won’t give up ,provided that there is a person on the earth. WU Gang is a Chinese man on the moon, whereas Chang E is a toad.
There are many heroes in ancient mythology of China, such as Pangu(create the world in the myth), Kuafu(run after the sun in the myth), Nu Wa( repair the sky in the myth) and so on. Compared with them, WU Gang is not a hero, only a ordinary people.
At once ,I believed that he was happy, because I learned him from Mao Tse-tung’s poems: “it’s the laurel wine that Wu gang offers them to share”(吴刚捧出桂花酒《蝶恋花 答李淑一》)，“the lonely goddess of them moon spreads her sleeves long”(寂寞嫦娥舒广袖《蝶恋花 答李淑一》). From the verses above, we can’t realize Wu gang’s suffering, tenacity , solemnness and stirring, no wander that we won’t imagine Chang E as a toad on the moon. In our minds’eyes, Wu gang is a handsome man with good wines, beauties and no policemen controling him.
After I read some details about the myth between Wu gang and Chang E, I understand that the story about Wu gang is not relaxed and fine,because it implies a profoud idea, brutalities of fate. The blame Wu gang beared is the most painful. More importantly, it is not only aimed at Wu gang, but also at humen beings. Wu gang was created by Chinese far earlier than Sisyphus created by western people. These above is a reason for why we call Wu gang a Chinese man.
Ancient myths are polished toward fine direction. For example, when it comes to the Legend of Chang-Er, the Moon Goddess, we always avoid talking about what happened after Chang-Er arrived the moon. According to Huai Nan-zi, after Chang-Er stole the immortality drug, she “lived on the moon and became a toad ,a moon fairy”.(托身于月,是为蟾蜍,而为月精《初学记》). However, our kindnesses make us unwilling to believe that the beauty, Chang-Er, become a toad, because the ending of Chang-Er like that is tragic. In fact, Wu gang is more tragic due to his endless cutting down the tree.
Humen beings’fate is the same as Wu gang’s. the existence of mankind is as infinite as the universal. We are cutting down the time tree age by age, even though the won’t be down. Wu gang failed in cutting down the laurel, but we are still proud of greatness and tragedy of his perseverance. His story tells us that everyone has his own laurel, like us,writers, writting articles is our laurel.
Wu gang tells us that ultimate human spirit is to raise axe again and again. The process of that will tremble our mind. We will miss a man called Wu gang when the moon is full. He is on the moon with a beautiful toad. We admire him because he do the same thing as humen beings do under the laurel.
