To hunt for a job or to pursue further study is a controversy among many college graduates. Some students plan to leave school to find a job for they believe four-year academic training has well prepared them for future career, but if I should make the choice I would prefer to continue my education for a higher degree.
This preference can be explained by a couple of factors. For one thing, I am keenly interested in my subject and university is a good place to do more research. If I stayed here for another couple of years, I would surely get further insights into the field where I study. For another, the development of society demands people with better qualifications. The higher degree one holds, the more competence one may have. Above all, with several more years at school, I will be a better-educated person with surer control of myself and a better understanding of the world. Naturally, it will be easier for me to find a more satisfactory job in the future.
Therefore, I am now working hard on postgraduate entrance exams. Though it means more time and money will be spent, I firmly believe it is well worth the efforts and costs.

Choices after Graduation

From the above table, we can see that the students of this university have three main choices after graduation. Of these choices, the students who have found a job only take up 50%. In contrast, students who pursue further study by taking the postgraduate entrance exam or going abroad have increased greatly than before, with the total percentage of 47%. The following factors can account for the choices of graduates. Above all, with the enrollment extension of universities, college graduates are facing the severe
employment situation, which forces them to find another way out. Moreover, in information age, knowledge is updated very rapidly. Many college students find their knowledge is not enough for their future career. Besides, some college students would not like to enter into the complicated society and want to escape from the reality temporarily by going to further study。
From my point of view, one’s choice after graduation should be based on his individual condition. Though taking the postgraduate entrance exam or going abroad for further study is a good choice, it is not necessarily true of everyone, because it might involve many factors, such as your future career direction, your economic condition. Therefore, we should take a full account before we make our decisions。

They are not Diametrically Opposed
The decline of employment rate of college students, the sharp remarks from society that gradates are just people with high grades and low abilities, the tendency that the employers find it difficult to take on people with the training they are looking for, all these combine to produce a view that it is not necessary to attend university which is just an utter waste of time, energy and money and you are supposed to get a job immediately after leaving school to get more work experience. They are not in diametrically opposite directions.
There are considerate figures who obtained great achievements without high degree, such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Li Jiacheng—the list is endless, who dropped out of school or whose family could not afford a good education. They stepped into the society where they became stronger and achieved what they wanted when they were young compared with we general people. There is no doubt that society is a big crucible in which we can steel ourselves, build character and accumulate a wealth of experience by going trails and tribulations.
Of course, I have no inclination to appeal you to drop out of school and start working right now. Education is also vital important in lots of aspects. One can tell an obvious difference at a glance between a person with high education and one with low education, from one’s behaviors and manners, as a proverb goes” Being educated, you can act as an educated man.” In addition, university which is a small society in great degree is also a good state where we can meet all kinds of people from different places, where nothing lays ahead of us but exertion, struggle and preference and where success and happiness belong to these who are able to take advantage of the opportunities that present themselves. Moreover, “education” here is not just to spend several years in the university, that is, we regard school as a shelter to avoid the fierce competition and pressure from the society, but that what we can actually gain in the school, including professional skills, something you learn from books, and how to get on with people in the small “society”.
In fact, we can enrich you knowledge and attainment by reading books and attending amateur training classes while working, much the way we can accumulate work experience by doing a part-time job while studying. They are not diametrically opposed but both important.
My Ideal Job
As college students, we will step into the society, and now we need to prepare for our future and arrange for our future career life, we need to take into consideration what to do in the future. my ideal job is to be a teacher.This three reasons support my idea.
First, I think to be a teacher is very interesting for me. I like to play with children and stay with them because of their innocence and purity, what's more, children's enthusiasm affect me and make me happy. Since I was young, I always played as a teacher,and taught my little sister their lessons. If I can be a teacher, I can stay with them all days and realize my dream.
