With the increasing number of university graduate fail to find a job, some parents start to hold the opinion that going to university is nothing but waste money and time. They argue that if family has the money to support child to attend to university, they would rather to spend the money to support their child to start their own business, which might get more reward than go to university. In my point of view, I cannot agree with that.

随着大学生就业难的人数逐渐增加,有些父母开始认为上大学除了浪费钱和时间根本就是一无是处。他们称如果家里有钱给孩子上大学,他们宁愿拿这个钱给孩子创业,这比上大学的回报还高。在我看来,我无法同意这个观点。

In the first place, university is not a place only to learning knowledge from books, but also it could open a door to a brand new world to students. For instance, there are lots of students’ association in university, students could choose one or two to learn and practice their skills according to their hobbies, such as a university entrepreneurs club is a nice chose for a student who are going to start their own business after graduated, it will help them to make less mistakes on the road to success.

In the second place, who could guarantee that a high school graduates would make a success in business field. Apparently they are lack of professional business knowledge and experience. What’s the most important is that they are lack of contacts. Those factors will make them fail every easily, even though they have a strong money backup from their parents.

According to a recent research, most Chinese college students can not speak exact English pronunciation. Nearly every Chinese student learns English in universities. Chinese teachers teach language is easy to be accepted and followed, but that’s not native pronunciation and tone. We students can’t feel the all-English learning environment. As far as I am concerned, it’s necessary to hire foreign teachers to instruct students.

“thank” until I came to international college. My pronunciation was wrong before I touch the foreign teacher. His native tone gives me a lot help.

Recent years have witnessed a great popularity of university ranking. High school graduates make their choice almost mainly based on university ranking. University ranking has aroused wide public concern. It’s a controversial issue whether people should make a university ranking.

Recent years have witnessed a variety of accidents occurred in universities in China. This phenomenon has aroused public concerns. We have to give attention to campus security and build a harmonious campus.

Secondly, at high school, we're only permitted to study science subject or humanities subject, and we would study extremely hard to get more marks which made us stay up. Worse still, in spare time, we never did some sporting and relaxed ourselves so as to not fall behind in the study. However, in college, we're allowed to learn what we're interested in. Besides, when we're free, we always take part in great variety activities which makes us obtain different ability.

Sun Yat-sen University

Sun Yat-sen University or Zhongshan University (Traditional Chinese: 中山大学; Simplified Chinese : 中山大学; pinyin: Zhōngshān Dàxué) is a prominent university in the southern part of China, located mainly in Guangzhou. The university is named after Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, a physician and later president of the Republic of China.

The university consists of 4 campuses (South Campus, North Campus, East Campus and Zhuhai Campus) with a total area of 6.17 square kilometers. Three of the four campuses are located in Guangzhou, the fourth is in Zhuhai.

The university motto, "Study extensively; Enquire accurately; Reflect carefully; Discriminate clearly; Practise earnestly" (博学、审问、慎思、明辨、笃行), is from one of the Chinese classics, Doctrine of the Mean.

Sun Yat-sen University, originally known as National Kwangtung University (国立广东大学), was founded in 1924 by Dr. Sun Yat-sen. It combined National Higher Normal College (广东高等师范学校), Kwangtung Provincial Law

College (广东公立法科大学) and Provincial Agricultural Technical School (广东公立农业专门学校), and after his death it was renamed National Sun Yat-sen University in 1926.

Campus

The campus was originally located at Shipai (石牌), Eastern Guangzhou. In the early 1950s, Sun Yat-sen University was merged with Lingnan University and relocated to Kangle Yuan (康乐园), Southern Guangzhou, which is now called the South Campus. A long history and fine tradition

Sun Yat-sen university is a name-brand institution of higher education with fine traditions in teaching and learning. In 1924, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, great leader of the 20th century, founded this university personally, and inscribed in his own handwriting the school motto of "Study extensively; Enquire accurately; Reflect carefully; Discriminate clearly; Practise earnestly." The school was originally named Guangdong University, and later renamed Sun Yat-sen University in 1926. In the 1930s, there were seven schools in the University, which were the Schools of Arts, Sciences, Law, Engineering, Agricultural Studies, Medicine

and Education. In 1935, the University set up the Graduate School and began to enroll graduate students. In the 1950s, the colleges, schools and

departments were readjusted nationwide, and Sun Yat-sen University became a comprehensive university with the liberal arts and sciences as its backbone disciplines. Since the founding of the new China, Sun Yat-sen University has always been one of national key universities, and is also among the first batch of institutes to award Doctorate and Master degrees and to establish

post-doctoral research flowing stations in our country. Approved by the State Council, the university was the first to set up graduate school in the South China area in the early 1990s, thus offering a complete range of degrees from the bachelor, master to doctorate.

The University has been unceasingly raising the quality of undergraduate education and has become an important base for training high-level talents. One of the predecessors of the Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Science was the Bo Ji Medical School, which, founded in 1866, was the earliest institution of learning of western medicine in our country, where Dr.Sun Yat-sen once studied and engaged in revolutionary activities. The Bo Ji Medical School evolved into the College of Medicine of Lingnan University in 1936. In 1953, the Colleges of Medicine in Sun Yat-sen University and Lingnan University merged to form the College of Medicine of South China, which was joined by the Guangdong Guanghua College of Medicine in 1954. The university was renamed Guangzhou College of Medicine and Sun Yat-sen College of Medical Science successively, and finally Sun Yat-sen University of Medical Science in 1985, which has developed steadfastly into a comprehensive medical

Education background

In 1995, I entered the Nanjing University of Science & Technology (NUST) -- widely considered one of the China’s best engineering schools. During the following undergraduate study, my academic records kept distinguished among the whole department. At the period of my graduate study, my overall GPA(3.77/4.0) ranked top 5% in the department. In the second semester, I became teacher assistant that is given to talented and matured students only. This year, I won the Acer Scholarship as the one and only candidate in my department, which is the ultimate accolade for distinguished students endowed by my university. Presently, I am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of Excellent Graduation Thesis. Research experience and academic activity

When a sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to narrow down my interest for my future research. With the tool of OpenGL and Matlab, I designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. I assumed and fulfilled a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.

In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. MY BACKGROUND

I was born in a small village of Shan Dong Province on April 4th, 1968. When I was young, my family was very poor, so I had to work to earn money to help my parents after class when I was in the middle school.

In 1986 I was admitted by University of International Business and Economics (or: UIBE) to pursue a bachelor degree in Economics. My major is accounting in Department of International Business Management. The undergraduate education gave me a wide range of vision and taught me how to cooperate with others. I developed several professional interests in Accounting, Finance, and International Trade.

The following eight-year working experience offered me a good chance to give full play to my creativity, intelligence and diligence. In 1990-1993, I worked as an assistant to funding manager in China National Technical Import and Export Corporation. In 1993-present, I was employed by China Kingdom Import and Export Corporation to be the Manger of Financial and Accounting Division.

I do believe that with my hard early life, solid educational background and ample working experience, I would be an excellent student of you MBA program.

MY PERSONAL ACCOMPLISHMENT: After graduating from UIBE, I was employed as the assistant to the funding manager by China National Technical Import and Export Corporation. After reading a lot of related files, and analyzing the overall funding situation of the corporation, I found that the loan policy was not been put into effect. So we have thousands of millions RMB loan with very high interest rate while a large amount of cash in bank with very low interest rate was idle. I reported this to my supervisor, and then we studied and revised the loan policy. This revision saved the corporation approximately RMB thirty millions yuan. In order to raise the funding effectiveness, after one year’s hard work, I developed the internal banking system within the corporation based on the actual funding supply and need of the different divisions and projects. This internal banking system made full use of the corporation’ funding resources, and due to this, I was highly praised by the president of the corporation.

WHY CHOOSE YOUR MBA PROGRAM? After I have worked in business area for eight years, I feel that I need to continue my education by pursuing a Master degree in business administration. I have practiced my professional expertise in accounting, demonstrated my leadership abilities and perfected my communication skills. But I have yet to become an entrepreneur in my own

right, and to fully master the art of modern business. I want to be trained more vigorously in scientific methods of analysis and synthesis. There are a lot of opportunities and challenges in China that I do not yet fell fully confident to seize. My business career has so far benefited mostly the companies that I worked for, but a good business education in your university will probably become a new era for me.
