睿源07“小升初”集训营 ——智 力 题 集 锦
“智力测试”题是对考生要求较高的测试题，它不仅要求考生有坚实的英语基础，而且好要具备较强的分析、推理能力。旨在培养和发现英语尖子学生，开发智力，培养能力。
这类题往往涉及内容较广，包括一些生活常识、英语语音、语法，有的还需要进行计算、对比、分析、综合等。主要类型如下：
一、急转弯。
有些题目有言外之意，弦外之音，表面看来是指这一种意思，而实际指的是与此相关的另一种意思，需要从另一个角度才能考虑到。这种巧问需急转弯回答。例如：
1）A word has only three syllables, but it has all the 26 letters in it. What word is it? A. Dialogue B. Alphabet C. English D. American (答案是B, Alphabet, 字母表自然包括26的字母。) 2）What goes up but never come down?
A. A cat B. A car C. Water D. Your age (答案是D,因为人不可能越活年岁越小。) 3）A man rode to a city on Friday. He stayed there four days and returns on Friday. How is it possible? (答案是：The horse‘s name is Friday.) 4）What is it in the middle of Cario(开罗)? （答案是“I”） 5）What question can you never answer ― Yes‖?
A. Are you old? B. What‘s your name? C. Are you asleep? D. How are you?
(答案是C.) 二、字谜。
1）Which word is the longest one in English language?
(答案是smiles。Because it is one mile from beginning to end.)
2）My first is in SACK but not in SILK, My second is in HAT but not in STAND. My third is in Aye but not in OYEZ. My fourth is in KNIFE but not in FORK. My last letter is in FIRE but not in FLAME. What am I? (答案是CHAIR.) 三、物谜。
多从日常用品，交通工具、学习用具等处着眼，答题注意思路开阔、思维迅捷，抓住关键词句，产生联想。例如：
1）What runs from Beijing to Shanghai without moving?
A. A car B. A tyre (轮胎) C. A road D.A map (答案是C。未动的只能是road.)
2）What‘s white when it‘s dirty? （答案是BLACKBLARD）
3）I have cities without house, forests without trees, rivers without water. What am I?

(答案是A MAP。) 四、人物迷。
1） What worker always opens doors but never goes inside? (答案是POSTMAN。)
2) His father is my grandfather but I am not his son. Who is he? (答案是 He is my uncle.) 五、计算。
这类题目要求根据所提供的有关信息或数字进行计算。但应注意多半不是纯计算性的题目，多少含有一些需要动脑筋或急转弯之处。
1） If today is 11th August, Wang Ying is leaving for Shanghai, She says,“I will not come back until the week after next.‖ When will she come back?

(答案是D。 the week after next 意为“下下周“，根据逻辑推算，只有8月
25日合乎实际。)

(答案是A。 注意“twenty-four months‖ 并不是无关紧要的。) 2） what number comes next?

有些题目为增强迷惑性，根本是无疑之问，正面回答往往很棘手，这里需要我们进行非常理性的分析或反面的回答，即采用求异思维。
1）A couple has a healthy baby, it has only one right eye. Why? (答案是：Because no one has two right eyes.)
2) Mrs. Green was caught in heavy rain and she was all wet. But her head is dry. Why?
