She said, "It is unreasonable to such a thing."

It is unreasonable," she said,"to expect such a thing."

He is very interested in history.

He passed in History but failed in Geometry.

We went to the hospital to Grandfather.

What does it mean,Mother?

She knew Professor Smith.

She knew the Professor.

3.时间、量度及货币单位应视为一个整体;不能分开移行。如;

使用横线纸书写时,要在纸的左右两边留约3.6厘米的空白。使用空白纸书写时,纸的上下两边留约6厘米的空白;

A Day to Remembcr

Let's Go in for Sports【

My Life As Factory Worker

A Walk Under The Rain

如my fatller's book不能写成my fathers’book。

如句子 "It's none of your business," the young men said rudely.

I didn't know what he meant by that.

Yesterday she saw an English film "Gone with the Wind"

①作者姓名采用“姓在前名在后”原则,具体格式是:姓,名字的首字母.如:MalcolmRichardCowley应为:Cowley,M.R.,如果有两位作者,第一位作者方式不变,&之后第二位作者名字的首字母放在前面,姓放在后面,如:FrankNorris与IrvingGordon应为:Norris,F.&I.Gordon.;

如果用打字机的,就打两下回车就可以了另外,如果有1,2,3这样的列举项时,列举项要相对正文缩进一个tab的距离(四个半角空格),如there are four board managers here in advancededu of bbs.pku.edu.cn, eachof whom has its own specifications.1) birdf, whose major was mathematics......2) ilovekoala, who.....................3)......................

2.1 letter contemporary

比如:Some questions about C++.

Sincerely,

Sincerely yours,

Regards,

Best wishes,

Best regards,

With best wishes,

Wish best regards,

Yours,

Cheers,

As ever,

With love,【

Affectionately,

......

附件attachment I am attaching the report.

转发forwarded I've forwarded your e-mail to Alice. Alice

保持联系 stay /keep in touch

Please let me know your decision as soon as possible.

How are you been recently?

I am happy to receive your e-mail.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to apply for the position of ...as posted in your website.

Introduce yourself...

Please find attached a copy of my resume for your review.

Please refer to my attached resume for a summary of my skills and experience. I am looking forward to you. Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Yours sincerely,

Lillian Xiong

Dear Alice,

Thanks so much for the lovely dinner last night. It was so thoughtful of you.I would like to invite both of you to my house when you are available.

Best regards,

Lilian

I am writing to request information about sth.

I would like to request a copy of sth.

I look forward to hearing form you soon.

Dear Mary,

This is Tom.....

Look forward to seeing you soon.

Best regards,

Tom Yu

YES:Supplier training

NO:professional trainees from sister company should abide by rule of local company(太长)

NO:像News about the meeting 这样的表达,

YES:New E-mail Address Notification;Detailed calculation

NO:detailed calculation

视信的内容是否重要,还可以开头加上URGENT或者FYI(For Your Information,供参考),如:URGENT:Submit your report today!

Smith。

Jimmy,

I received your memo and will discuss it with Eric on Wednesday.

Best,

David

Howard E. Wyatt, Dr. Howard E. Hyatt

YES: Messrs. Smith, Wyatt, and Fury 。 YES:用Mesdames, Mmes., or Mses. Farb, Lionel, and Gray 。 Dr. and Mrs. Harold Wright ;Mr. Harold Wright and Dr. Margaret Wright ;Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Adams-Quinn 。

Ms. Sarah Gray

Ken Green, President /Ken Green /Vice President of International Operations

NO:Ken Green /Vice President of Unicom China

YES: Ken Green /Vice President, Unicom China

YES:Michael J. Smith, Jr. /Michael J. Smith Sr.

Dear Committee Member:

Dear Meeting Planner:

Dear Colleagues: To All Sales Reps:

To Whom It May Concern:

Dear Sir or Madam:

Dear Madam or Sir:

Dear Purchasing Agent:

YES: Gentlemen or Ladies: Ladies or Gentlemen:

YES:Dear Mr. Jones: (非常正规) Dear Joan:

Dear Jim, Jim, (非正规)

1、 Very Formal

Respectfully yours, Yours respectfully,

2、 Formal

Very truly yours, Yours very truly, Yours truly,

3、 Less Formal

Sincerely yours, Yours sincerely, Sincerely, Cordially yours, Yours cordially, Cordially,

4、Informal

Regards, Warm regards, With kindest regards, With my best regards, My best, Give my best to Mary, Fondly, Thanks, See you next week!

We will reimburse you for these legal expenses. Sinopec will reimburse you for these legal expenses. I found the brochure very informative. We are pleased to offer you the position of sales director, and I am looking forward to our Tuesday morning meeting.

那么I和you呢?

You will be pleased to learn that you have been selected to serve on our advisory board. Your prompt response will be appreciated.

I am pleased that our board has selected you as the best qualified candidate to serve on our advisory board. I hope you’ll agree to serve.

Your book was well written and comprehensive.

I thoroughly enjoyed your book and found an answer to every one of my questions about performance appraisals.

On Jane Eyre

Reading Jane Eyre is a process full of pleasure and motivation. The heroine, Jane Eyre, succeeds in conquering millions of readers by her virtue, consistence and reason. To make Jane’s extraordinary romance with Mr.Rochester a break from routine, Charlotte Bronte managers to connect Jane with an “ordinary” aspirant and Mr.Rochester a disability.

The essence of love deserves a discussion and reflection here. Appearance? possession? To me, neither. Miss Ingram, undoubtedly, a wealthy, pretty and accomplished lady from the first class, is described by Mr.Rochester as one of those “women who please me only by their faces. They open to

me a perspective of flatness, triviality and perhaps imbecility,

coarseness, and ill-temper. ”In addition, the repeated proposal of the handsome, ambitious St.John comes across Jane’s stable refusal. These plots are expected to get out of a conventional stereotype that appearance and possession count most. In Jane Eyre, love is only based on internal appreciation. It is Jane’s virtue that brings light to all around her---kinship, friendship and romance.

To my regret, virtue no longer shares the priority and popularity in our modern society. More or less, people have been accustomed to making external show pass for clean shrines. Sometimes, people feel reluctant to admit their poverty and ugliness. However, those who dares to

scrutinize and expose---to raise the gilding , and show basic metal under it, are too often neglected. For the people that merely care façade brilliance, I suppose, Jane Eyre cannot be missed.

Apart from Jane, I want to mention Helen Burns, a most important friend of Jane. Though the author doesn’t emphasis her, I do appreciate this little girl and feel sorry for her early death. Tender but firm, learned but modest, eloquent but prorious, Helen Burns always remains obedient to critism, smiles at her friend when most needed and difficult, keeps calm towards death. Really, I believe she has a heart large enough, vigorous enough to hold her swelling life of pure and fervid. Her spirit seemed hastening to live with a very brief span as much as many people during a protracted existence.

Besides depicting a typically stable, tractable Jane, Jane Eyrealso stands out for some other aspects. Given the content, the book discovers many social problems that period had, such as the poor charitable school, hypocritical postors and profligate nobles; Given the rhetorical feature, it is not only a work of realism, but also full of romantic atmosphere. The mixture of presentiment, symbolism, synecdoche and metaphor contributes a lot to literature value. Obviously, the author’s

description towards Jane’s mentality differs a lot from the former ones. It is more forthright and minute.

On the whole, Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre is a profound work that reminds readers of a theme: Virtue and Persistence. It has inspired so many readers especially females to struggle for a better life. Jane, a lady endowed with independence and goodness, is really a symbol of feminism. Critics say it is Charlotte Bronte that accomplishes Jane Eyre. For me, it is Jane Eyre that accomplishes Charlotte Bronte.

Many people simply regard Pride and Prejudice as a love story, but in my opinion, this book is an illustration of the society at that time. She perfectly reflected the relation between money and marriage at her time and gave the people in her works vivid characters. The characters have their own personalities. Mrs. Bennet is a woman who makes great efforts to marry off her daughters. Mr. Bingley is a friendly young man, but his friend, Mr. Darcy, is a very proud man who seems to always feel superior. Even the five daughters in Bennet family are very different. Jane is simple, innocent and never speaks evil of others. Elizabeth is a clever girl who always has her own opinion. Mary likes reading classic books. (Actually she is a pedant.) Kitty doesn’t have her own opinion but likes to follow her sister, Lydia. Lydia is a girl who follows exotic things, handsome man, and is somehow a little profligate. When I read the book, I can always find the same personalities in the society now. That is why I think this book is indeed the representative of the society in Britain in the 18th century.

The family of gentleman in the countryside is Jane Austen’s favourite topic. But this little topic can reflect big problems. It concludes the stratum situation and economic relationships in Britain in her century. You can find these from the very beginning of this book.

The first sentence in this book is impressive. It reads: “It is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must be in need of a wife”. The undertone is very clear: the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but possession. People always think that Austen was an expert at telling love stories. In fact, the marriage in her book is not the result of love, but the result of economic needs. After reading this book, I know the truth is that a poor woman must be in need of a husband, a wealthy man.

I couldn’t forget how eager Mrs. Bennet wants to marry off her daughters. If you want to know why she is so crazy about these things, I must mention the situation in Britain at that time. Only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting his father’s possessions. Younger sons and daughters who are used to luxurious lives have no choice but marry a man or woman in possession of a large fortune to continue their comfortable lives. Thus, we can see that getting married is a way to become wealthier, particularly for women without many possessions. Jane Austen told us that money and possession determined everything, including marriage and love in her century.

In “Pride and Prejudice”, the sister of Mr. Bingley strongly opposed his plan of marrying Jane because the Bennets don’t have many possessions and their social positions are much lower than them. From this, we can see there are a lot of obstacles for a not very rich woman to marry a wealthy

husband. The society, the relatives would not allow them to get married. In modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything” is still rooted in some people’s mind. A lot of parents try hard to interfere their children’s marriages. Education background, possessions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence one’s marriage. Marry for money is still a big problem in our society. We can’t help thinking: can money determine everything?

Austen left this problem for us to think. The genius of Jane Austen lies in this perfect simplicity, the simplicity that reflects big problems. Although Austen was only 21 when she wrote “Pride and Prejudice”, her sharp observation of social lives makes the style of this book surprisingly mature and lively. The plots in her works are always very natural. The development of the plot is as inevitable as a problem in mathematics. I think the depth of Pride and Prejudice is the reason that makes this book prominent and classic. Today, her book still can be the guide telling us the economic relationships both at her time and in modern time.

Attitudes toward Money

正:Attitudes Toward Money

如my father's book不能写成my fathers’book。

如句子 "It's none of your business," the young men said rudely.

Yesterday she saw an English film "Gone with the Wind"

实例:How are you?
