PeeKay, as a controversial Indian film showed in 2014, attracted by its individual story and Bollywood style, I want to share some my views. First of all, the film tell a story about a traveling of an alien. P.K. is an alien coming to the earth to travel, but the key of his spaceship was robbed. So he embarked on a journey to find the key. He had overcome some difficulties to learn languages and to learn live on the earth. Then he found that human beings pray to God while they face troubles can’t be solved, and he did as peoples did in order to find his key. But he did not know the requirements of different gods are not the same, a lot of jokes had been made when he tried to pray all of gods. Finally he believed all the gods, but gradually he found God's mouthpieces always bring people some useless solutions and mistook the reason is God called a wrong phone number. During this time he met Jaggu, a girl of stories. Her generosity, enthusiasm, sincerity and love to let him slowly fell in love with her. Finally, he found that Gods don’t exist in this world, and the brief in people’s heart is God. He helped Jaggu find her lover selflessly and backed his planet in the end.
Being involved many of the religious issues, this film in India is controversial. Although sensitive, this film has taken $ 100,000,000 at the global box office. The key that P.K. finding just like our goal we finding in our lives, the process full of lies, deceit, betrayal and darkness. But
there do are trust, friendship and love, it depends on how we deal with these. P.K.’s experience in the earth told me too much beliefs make people confused, in my view, only persistence of oneself can make one enjoy his life. Maybe people have their own beliefs, but those belief of Gods can’t give them any useful things to solve the practical problems. I think the practical meaning of this film is I said, superstition will be replaced by other healthier things.
At the same time, P.K. told me a tip about love—“Love is enough let me go ”. A good lover should consider the happiness of another one, although that feeling is not so good. The Bollywood dancing showed in the movie many times, its an unique mark of Indian film, although some people are not fond of that, I do appreciate it and think Bollywood dancing is an essential part of an Indian movie, it showed the exotic culture and interlinked the story.
In a word, I’d rather believe myself rather believe all Gods.
