中英文简历的差异与翻译原则

摘要：随着经济全球化，越来越多的求职者希望到国外企业和公司工作。英文求职简历是求职者与用人单位的媒介。中英文简历在结构，表达方式与行文习惯上有很大差异，翻译过程中要关照这些差异，漂亮的英文求职信是求职成功的敲门砖。
关键词：简历；差异；翻译
1.求职简历的结构
求职简历又称求职资历、个人履历等，是求职者将自己与所申请职位紧密相关的个人信息经过分析整理并清晰简要地表述出来的书面求职资料，是一种应用写作文体。
求职简历最基本的结构内容至少应当包括四大项：其一是求职者的个人自然信息，如姓名、性别、地址、邮编、电话、电子信箱等内容。这项内容放在简历第一页的上部，以方便招聘者与自己联系。其二求职者所希望从事的职位，即通过所讲的求职意向。此项可放置在第一项，也可放置在第二项。其三是求职者的接受教育情况，如何时何校获何学历或者学位，把最高的学历或者学位放在最前面，然后依次往前推导。其四是求职者的工作资历经验，应该是与此申请职位相关的内容，可采取由近及远的顺序安排，也可采取将与所申请职位最相关的内容置前的顺序安排。上述四大项内容是必须具备的，其他内容如知识储备、具体技能、获得荣誉等均可酌情写入简历。
2.中英文简历的差异
中英文简历在结构和表达的基本内容上是基本相同的，但是必须纠正的一个错误观念是：英文简历是对中文简历的简单照搬，仅仅做翻译工作就可以了！事实上，两者有诸多的不同：
作用不同：对于国有企业或国内的公司、事业单位等，在招聘有明确要求的情况下，英文简历通常起到对中文简历的补充作用，用来辅助说明你的能力、尤其是英文能力的强弱。 而对于外资企业或外国企业，英文简历是求职必备选项。外企一般主要看求职者的英文简历，你的所有能力、素质的展示可能就来自于你的英文简历。
表达方式不同：英文简历应该符合 英语 国家人的习惯，而中文简历要符合中国人的阅读习惯;
侧重点不同：英文简历的侧重点在于Keywords和Action Words。它们最能表现你的素质。
3．英语简历的类型
英语简历基本氛围时序型简历、功能型简历两种。
时序型格式按照逆时序记录你曾就职的职位，在罗列出的每一项职位下，你要说明你的责任、该职位所需要的技能、以及最关键的一点：突出的成就。时序型简历能够演示出持续和向上的职业成长全过程。关注的焦点在于时间、工作持续期、成长与进步以及成就。时序型简历适合于以下情况：
(1) 你申请的职位非常符合你的教育背景和工作经历
(2) 你有在著名公司工作的经历
(3) 你的升迁或荣誉具有连续性
功能型格式又称技术型简历，在简历的一开始就强调技能、能力、资信、资质以及成就，但是并不把这些内容与某个特定雇主联系在一起。职务、在职时间和工作经历不作为重点以便突出强化你个人的资质。这种类型的格式关注的焦点完全在于你所做的事情，突出你的技能而不是有关经历的时间。如果你符合下列某种情况，可以考虑使用技术型简历：
(1) 跨专业求职，但你具有申请职位所需的相关技能
(2) 你缺乏在著名公司工作的经历，职位不高或者缺少荣誉奖励
(3) 你想避免给招聘者留下频繁更换工作的印象
(4) 你的工作经历有中断
（5) 从英语简历中，企业还可以看出求职者的英语水平。
4．英文简历的翻译原则
（1）回顾过去
首先，列出之前你的工作经历及教育背景。接着，写上所有具体的信息，包括以前任职的公司信息，当时的头衔和职责范围，取得的成绩如何，获得的证书以及教育程度。英文简历的汉语翻译要按照汉语的习惯，英语长句要翻译成地道的汉语流水句，简洁明快，重点突出。英语中名词、介词必要时可以转化为汉语的动词。
（2）表明目标
目标也是求职要求。你在求职的时候，一般雇主都想知道你的职业规划。这有助于他们了解你是否是此职位的最佳人选。在简历的开头你需要写上求职目标，英语翻译为 “Objective”，然后简短地写下你的求职要求。例如：“a position in advertising.”
（3）职责或成就
职责即是分配的任务。而成就是你取得的成绩－是你努力后的成果。雇主们都想知道你过去的工作职责是什么，但他们对你曾经取得的成绩更感兴趣。因此你在描述过去的工作时，那就稍作渲染一番吧！比如说：你过去的一项职责是人员安排，而你解决了一个很大的问题。你就可以写： “Solved scheduling conflict.”翻译成汉语：解决过人员配置冲突。
（4）调整简历格式
因为要在有限的篇幅内表达尽可能多的内容，所以在书写简历时，你可以使用缩写或是省略语。你可以略去句子的主语（例如：I, my manager），物主代词（my/mine, his/hers）甚至有时候可以省略冠词（the, a）。如果你想在一句话中列出一项以上的成绩，你可以用分号来代替“and”。比如：“I led an important project and my manager gave me an award” 就可以写成 “Led key project; awarded by manager.”
（5）使用行为动词
行为动词表示某个特定动作，例如：solved, managed, initiated, ccomplished，而am, was, have 和 had之类是被动动词。在简历中使用行为动词，会让你看起来像一个目标明确，充满活力的人，而这样的人正是绝佳的招聘对象。比如: “Managed a team of twenty employees”听起来就要比 “Was in charge of twenty employees.”更为有力。
知名国际企业录用人才的程序严格，大多数人都是以一份中英文简历开始塑造他在公司的形象。而对于大型跨国企业，英文简历(resume)的翻译尤为重要，它可能决定求职者能否进入面试，能否有真正展露自己才华的机会。不了解有关的常识和程式，不花费相当的心思来展示，单凭纯正娴熟的英文功底，不容易获得单位的青睐。在一大堆错误百出、英文表达能力低劣或平庸，毫无针对性和创造性的简历中，你的那份若能让人眼睛一亮，成功的机会必将大大增加。
