Say “NO” to Cheating in Exams
Nowadays, cheating in exams has become very common in college students. Some people think that sometimes it can be acceptable under special circumstances, while others think that it is no doubt wrong. As for me, I think cheating in exams is harmful and people should say “NO”to it.
First of all, cheating in exams is dishonest, which deceives students themselves andteachers and does harm to the students' progress. As we all know, exams are just an exam to test what they learned, whose result is just to tell students themselves what they didn't learn well and tells teachers that they need to adjust their teaching ways.But now, students cheating in exams cannot reveals their weakness clearly.As a result, students will get slack at their study. In the long run, students will feel it no use to study hard and gradually form a wrong sense that they don't need to study hard but need to cheat well in exams to get good grades, which is really harmful to their further development.
Second, it is unfair for honest students not to cheat in exams. For those honest students, they firmly believe“no pains, no gain”. They think that they must study hard to have good grades in exams. That is a great repayment for their efforts. However, for those cheaters, they didn’t make efforts, but they get the same or even good result. So they undoubtedly despise others’efforts. And it makes honest students feel that they have been deceived and their efforts have been ignored. Therefore, cheating in exams is unfair for honest students,
which is reallybad.
Finally, cheating in exams goes against the society core values ——credibility and integrity and it is not beneficial to the development of the whole society. Since the old ages, people have been regarding the credibility and integrity as a fine tradition and obeying it. So as college students, they are the spokesmen of the Chinese national virtue and they should fulfill it well at every moment. Cheating just make them lose themselves. Even worse, they make more people involves the cheating. So a bad social atmosphere will form, which will heavily affect the development of the society.
To sum up, cheating in exams not only hinders the development of students, but also is unfair to honest students. More importantly, it goes against the traditional virtue and restrict the development of society. Therefore, cheating in exams cannot be accepted. Let‘s firmly say “NO”to cheating in exams.
